A year ago, I didn't know a training could change the way you think about your body, your breath, even your own time. The 200hr YTT at Shri Gaia Institute, under the guidance of Tanya Popovich and the other teachers, was so much more than I expected.

We learned real, detailed anatomy, not just muscle names.

We learned how to build a class sequence that has meaning and purpose, and above all, that respects the body.

We learned humility. I walked into the training thinking I knew yoga reasonably well, having practiced for years. I walked out realising how much I didn't know, and how wonderful that is.

Studying yoga philosophy, such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita, showed me that practice is an endless journey, not a destination.

Today, when I teach, I try to pass on exactly that: that you don't need to «get it right» in yoga.

You simply need to show up, pay attention, and let the practice teach you whatever you need in that moment.
